Hockey Players and Marketing
Im sure everyone has seen the commercials that Sidney Crosby have been in marketing Reebok's products. Reebok International has signed a multi-year agreement with Sidney Crosby, the top pick NHL draft. He is a major part of Reebok's marketing strategy, both on and off the ice. Reebok is all about using Pittsburgh Penguin Sidney Crosby as the face of their hockey gear. On one of the best runs of his career, Reebok uses him throughout their campaign along with effective social media for their marketing strategy. They feel that people look up to him and want to be the hockey player he is and if they buy their product he wears, they will be that much closer. I believe this is a smart way for Reebok to promote their product.

How Inelastic is Gasoline?
I am sure gassing up your vehicle these days is not the funnest and most enjoyable thing to do and everyone nearly faints when they see the end total, but sadly there is nothing we can do about it. If we want to go somewhere using a vehicle we need to put gas in it.. no if, ands, or buts about it. If someone is working or going to school out of town they have no other choice. This is why gas is viewed as inelastic meaning when prices change, there is relatively little change in the quantity demanded. People still need to get from point A to point B no matter how much the cost.
If gas prices continue to rise you may see people with the big trucks and other gas guzzlers settle for smaller more fuel-efficient vehicles. This, in turn, will effect car dealerships that depend on sales of their trucks and SUVs.
Although these high gas prices are ridiculous, there are some ways you can lessen the cost. For example car pool to work or take a bus if possible.

Iphone 3GS versus Iphone 4... Is there really a significant difference???
I know people often wonder.. is the product I have really that different from the newer "better" version that is on its way in? Although people ask this question, many do upgrade their products to the newer version maybe just to keep up with others or just to say they have the better version. But usually the product is more advanced and have some unique new features that make it better.
To answer the question of why is the iphone 4 so much better than the iphone 3GS is:
-The Iphone 4 has a new slimmer model.
-The Iphone 4 has face time video calling, the Iphone 3GS does not have this feature.
-The Iphone 4 has higher-resolution retina display.
-The Iphone 4's camera has 5 megapixels as opposed to the Iphone 3GS's 3 megapixels.
-The Iphone 4 also has a camera at the front of the phone.
-The Iphone 4 has HD video recording.

As of right now, I am wondering if I should upgrade to the Iphone 4...but do I really need all these new features when the phone I have is sufficient enough for my normal day-to-day usage? Hmmmmmm....

Hp creating new lap tops that are appealing to women
This is the latest design hp has come up with. It is targeted towards women. The name itself describes that this is truly designed for women. It has a big button that changes the screen to a mirror and has an on-nail printing device. Make up in a lap top... WOW! haha
The new sleek, pink design makes it very appealing to women. I think they will be successful with this new creation. I would even be interested in this purchase!!!

Lady Gaga hits stage with Winnipeg girl
Ten-year-old Maria Aragon of Winnipeg performed with her idol,Lady Gaga, during a sold-out concert in Toronto on Thursday night.
The grade-school student, who caught Gaga's attention after posting a cover of Born This Way online, sang the American pop star's hit single with her about an hour into the show at the Air Canada Centre.
The 10-year-old sat on her idol's lap at the piano and the pair performed to a huge packed show. The young singer popped out again during the encore, joining Gaga for a final dance.
It just goes to show that you can market yourself in many ways. This young girl started by posting her videos on youtube and just so happened to get noticed by Lady Gaga. This was a very great opportunity for this young girl to get noticed and get herself out there.

The Historic Town of Bonavista!
Bonavista is my hometown and I am very proud to say I grew up there! Today Bonavista is home to some of the friendliest folk in Newfoundland and boasts several of the province's most important historic sites. These historic sites consist of:
For more than 100 years this merchant-run salt fish complex served as a key economic force behind Bonavista's inshore fishery. The Ryan family made their fortune buying and curing salt cod and selling it all over the world.

Cape Bonavista Lighthouse
Located at the tip of Cape Bonavista is the Cape Bonavista Lighthouse. It was created to guide mariners bound for Labrador. The two-storey wooden structure is built around a tower which supports the lantern. The light was put in operation on September 11, 1843.
The Mathhew Legacy
John Cabot's famous voyage of dicovery to Newfoundland was made in a 65-foot caravel called the Matthew, almost certainly named for Cabot's wife, Mattea.

The Dungeon
On the road between Lance Cove and Bonavista you'll find one of nature's carvings, the Dungeon. It is a circular opening in the cliff with two seaward-side channels where the sea roars through. It is approximately 300 feet across and 15 metres deep. Tidal action has created a natural beach. You can swim or go through the channels in a small boat.
Mockbeggar Plantation
The earliest owner of the Mockbeggar Property that has been identified was Joseph White of Poole (1685-1771). He carried a diversified business related to codfishing, salmon, and seal fisheries, ship building, and trading between Newfoundland, Ireland, New England and the West Indies.
Bonavista Courthouse
Bonavista's first courthouse burned to the ground in 1897. The present courthouse was built in 1900, on the very spot where Bonavista's English defended themselves from French attack in 1704, and where the Whipping Post stood
Puffins
The Cape (Cape Bonavista) like most of coastal Newfoundland provides a home for puffins.
Icebergs
These are just a few of Bonavista's many beautiful sites! Be sure to make time to someday view this beautiful town I call my own ! :)

Taco Bell Fighting Back!!
Have you ever wondered what you were eating last time you were sitting in Taco Bell munching down on your yummy taco? Apparently there is a lawsuit against them saying they use a meat mixture in its burritos and tacos that contains binders and extenders that does not meet the requirements set by yhe U.S. Department of Agriculture to be labelled as "beef".
Taco Bell president fights back claiming the lawsuit is bogus and filled with completely inaccurate facts.
Taco Bell says its seasoned beef contains 88 per cent USDA-inspected beef and the rest is water, spices and a mixture of oats, starch and other ingredients that contribute to the "quality of its product." The company said it uses no extenders.
Although Taco Bell knew this information was false they could not ignore the threat to their brand, which is why they fought back so aggressively. Having these false acusations could majorly damage a company and hurt sales.
Good Luck Taco Bell!!

Walmart Planning on Opening 40 New Supercentres
Walmart says it will open 40 new Supercentres in the upcomingyear starting February 1st. The company says it will invest nearly $500 million in the expansion. The location of the stores has not yet been decided, but they will be introducing the new stores in Quebec and Manitoba for the first time!
At the end of this month, Wal-Mart will have 325 stores, including 124 supercentres. This is very exciting for places that have not had a Walmart before because it provides a very convenient one-stop shopping experience.

Hurricane Igor claims reach $65 Million
A picture of Curves in Bonavista that was damaged by Igor.
As you all know, Hurricane Igor caused a lot of heartache and distress to people in Newfoundland.
People in eastern Newfoundland have made more than $65 million in insurance claims related to Hurricane Igor, according to the Insurance Bureau of Canada.
The claims are for damages caused by wind, sewer backups, fallen trees and above-ground leaks.
Bureau vice-president, Bill Adams, said insurance companies are concerned about the frequency of storms like Igor, and they may result in insurance premiums rising.
Unfortunately my parent's home was affected by this storm. The basement was completely ruined and it was devistating to watch. Sadly some people lost their entire home and had to start from scratch. It was a hard time but everyone worked together and got through it.
